In, 1998, mother and daughter, Dorothy Glenn and Debbie Luke recognized the need for Bryan County,
Oklahoma to have a local vendor to supply quality, embroidered items to the community. That need led them
to open Stitches Unlimited.
The company began as a home based business that focused primarily on embroidery and monogramming. Due
to the quality of work and reasonable prices, it quickly out grew the original home location and the narrow
product line. It then moved to a small shop in Calera. And, in January 2003, it relocated again to a new
facility, in Calera, that more than doubled the existing floor space. With growth their client base now spans
from California to South Carolina and the product line includes print, appliqué, and shipping services.
The most recent expansion has been the addition of the gift shop Spirit Avenue. This addition allows us to
meet the needs of the individual at ballgames,or company/family events. We can supply a hostess gift (Wood
Wick candles, Simply Jane dishes, and more)) or a spirit item (personalized t-shirt, megaphones, etc.) New
products are added daily.
Stitches Unlimited (& Spirit Avenue) is still a family business. It now employees 3 generations of family, as
well as several other essential team members and continues to thrive because of the owners’ commitment to
quality and the customer. If you are ever in town, you’re invited to stop in for a visit.
